![]() ![]() Only this week I've been working on a big project original created in 1997. ![]() Usually a few things won't load as they've been updated, but I do have some very old early MIDI Yamaha soft synths from that era that are still working - and if I load up an old project, because back then I was lazy - all I might have is a stupid label saying track 14, and if a sound doesn't play, I don't know what it is - if it's a GM sound then I can find a replacement, but if it's an old synth I'm stuck. It means that I can still load in a project created in the late 90s. Its means that every couple of years I load and resave every cubase project. I see your point - but I've got legacy VSTis that are 32 bit, and I'm running through a bridge so I can keep them going because I have always tried to keep my old projects still loadable. I will forget to try harder in respect for your feelings. ![]() Sorry to anyone who may have had their feelings hurt by another's opinion. Or, maybe I am just an opinionated dick! That is also possible. Sorry, I would consider that a personal lack of desire to move forward and lack of integrity. Or is it those who have not the licenses that are concerned because their stolen software does not work?Īnd don't even come at me that one of your early 2016's vst's so were awesome and has never been duplicated. I am not trying to be a dick, but it does not make sense that someone wouldn't have ability to get updated software that they have purchased. I am not included in that at all but I suppose I can feel for those who don't evolve with what is better and updated. Oh shit, maybe some vst2 vintage instruments should be considered. I suppose free software is where this comes in, but even Reaper has their plugs updated right? What plugs are anyone worried about? That as well became a non issue like 4 years ago right? VST3 came out in like 2008 right? If a software plug developer hasn't updated to the most recent format, is it really viable? It was the 32-bit to 64-bit that was the most disruptive because operating systems could not work with the latter. Surprisingly, I don't even get why that is an issue. Information on every single update can be found in the Release Notes.Click to expand. From what I have heard, VST2 will not be discontinued for another year or two. However, please note that we can provide support for the latest release only. The installers can be used to install Cubase from scratch or to update older existing Cubase Artist 12 installations. These files are not available in the Steinberg Download Assistant anymore. For this purpose, previous installers can be downloaded using the links below.
